Dr John
Petrie

Dr John Petrie is a specialist
rheumatologist. Graduating in 1976 from Auckland University he
spent his post graduate years training in the Auckland
region. Receiving the Dorothy Eden Fellowship from the
Arthritis Foundation, Dr Petrie spent two years in the
Rheumatology Research Unit at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. He
then returned to New Zealand to take up his present
appointment at the then Queen Elizabeth Hospital in late 1986.
Dr Petrie's practice is primarily clinical, with special
interests in soft tissue rheumatism and pain management, including
rehabilitation of chronic pain syndrome.
Assoc. Professor Peter Jones
Peter
Jones joined the team at QE Health in 1995. He comes from a New
Zealand family but grew up and studied medicine in the United
Kingdom. Along with the other specialists he provides general
rheumatology services at QE Health, and rheumatology services in
Tauranga and Taupo. During his medical training he completed a PhD
in Medical Biochemistry. QE Health is linked to the Waikato
Academic Division of the University of Auckland Medical School and
Dr Jones holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship in Medicine. He is
an enthusiastic teacher, interested in medical
education.
Dr Chris
Ussher
A graduate of the University of Auckland School of
Medicine, Dr Ussher
was
trained in rheumatology at the University of Virginia. He is
Board Certified in
rheumatology and International Medicine.
Prior to coming to QE Health, Dr Ussher had a full time private
practice in
Los
Gatos, California. His practice interests include general
rheumatolgy, musculoskeletal
rehabilitation, pain management, and osteoporosis
assessment and
treatment.
