Wellness for every body

Multiple Sclerosis

My name is Cindy Jull and I would like to thank QE Health for my three weeks stay as an inpatient. I benefited so much from the geothermal treatment, physio treatment etc as I suffer from multiple sclerosis.

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in January 2008 at the age of 41, and my health has noticeably deteriorated over the past two years, especially in the last few months. I had enjoyed an active working and sports life up until my diagnosis and could not carry on. I am struggling to hold onto any independence and sustain a quality of life due to an inability to be mobile. Also over the past six months I have been using a walking frame.

During my stay at QE Health the physiotherapist ordered a walking stick to have at home that will help keep my independence once I am used to it.

Also the occupational therapist did a home visit to see what equipment could assist me in the future to keep my independence and ordered a shower stool, bed lever plus more. This also helps me to be safe from accidents and keep my independence living alone.

I rely on my vehicle to get to appointments, shopping, visit family and three grandchildren, also attend the gym and give me the little independence I have left. As my condition worsens I am struggling.

At QE Health all staff made you feel welcome and no matter what any inpatient needed help or assistance with nothing was a problem, the staff were only too pleased to help.

I would recommend any person that suffers from multiple sclerosis have three weeks treatment at QE Health, and I can assure you they will benefit from the wonderful treatment as well. My strength did improve over my three weeks at QE Health, and also my goal will soon happen to walk with a stick.

It would be good if funding was available for me to return as an inpatient for one day every 3, 6, 9 months, then another three weeks in one years time.

Once again, I am so grateful to all QE Health staff as I have benefited so much, and this has given me a better outlook on life regarding my health.

Kind regards.
